Abstract

The results of 3-year studies of the dynamics of salt accumulation and migration in the soil profile are discussed in the article. It is noted that Central Asia accounts for 68% of irrigated areas. Here, according to experts, about 20% of all saline and soda agricultural land is concentrated (that is, colo 211.7 million hectares out of 1060.1 million hectares). One of the main rea-sons for the degradation of irrigated land in the arid zone and the fall in soil fertility is their salinization. The purpose of the study was to analyze the dynamics of salt accumulation and migration after moisture-charging irrigation before sowing Gossypium L. cotton of the An-Bayaut-2 variety on gray-earth meadow soils in the conditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Mineralization of irrigation water was 0.7...0.9 g/l, mineralization of drainage water - 2...2.8 g/l. The soils of the test site are represented mainly by loess-like light loams and had different degrees of salinization. The type of soil salinization is chloride-sulfate, less often sulfatechloride (medium and slightly saline). Despite the uneven distribution of salts in the soil profile as a whole, the lowest salt content was in the upper horizon (0...40 cm), the largest - on average (50...80 cm). As a result, it was established that the upper soil layer was desalinated (on average, over 3 years of research in the layer up to 20 cm), and an increase in salt concentration was observed in the layer from 40 to 80 cm.
